The fiber optic EPFU (Enhanced Performance Fiber Units) cable is a very thin fiber optic cable specially developed for blown fiber applications. For protection, the fibers are encapsulated in a layer of acrylic. Surrounding this is a harder jacket that provides protection against impact from outside. Finally, there is a ‘low-friction’ layer around this to promote blowing distances. The EPFU cables are usually blown over distances of up to 1000 meters.
EPFU is supplied in pans of 2 kilometers as standard, but can be supplied in shorter or longer lengths on request. In addition, variants with different fiber numbers are possible. The EPFU is supplied in a sturdy pan, so that it can be transported without damage.
