The all-dielectric self-supporting ADSS optic cable provides fast and economical transmission channels for power communication systems due to its unique structure, good insulation and high temperature resistance, and high tensile strength.

Generally speaking, ADSS optic cable is cheaper and easier to install than optical fiber composite ground cable OPGW in many applications. It is advisable to use power lines or nearby towers to erect ADSS optic cables, and it is even necessary to use ADSS optic cables in some places.

The difference between AT and PE in ADSS optic cable:
AT and PE in ADSS optic cable refer to the sheath of the optical cable.
PE sheath: ordinary polyethylene sheath. For 10kV and 35kV power lines.
AT Sheath: Anti-tracking sheath. For 110kV and 220kV power lines.

Advantages of ADSS cable laying:
1. Strong ability to withstand extreme weather (gale, hail, etc.).
2. Strong temperature adaptability and small linear expansion coefficient, meeting the needs of harsh environmental conditions.
3. The optical cable has a small diameter and light weight, which reduces the impact of ice and strong winds on the optical cable, and also reduces the load on the power tower, maximizing the use of tower resources.
4. The ADSS cable does not need to be attached to the power line or the bottom line, and can be erected on the tower alone, and can be constructed without power failure.
5. The performance of the optical cable under high-intensity electric field is extremely superior, and it will not be subject to electromagnetic interference.
6. It is independent from the power line and easy to maintain.
7. It is a self-supporting optical cable, and does not need auxiliary hanging wires such as hanging wires during installation.

The main purpose of ADSS cable:
1. It is used as the lead-in and lead-out optical cable of the OPGW system relay station. Based on its safety attributes, it can well solve the problem of power isolation when the lead-in and lead-out relay station.
2. As the transmission optical cable of the optical fiber communication system in the high voltage (110kV-220kV) power network. In particular, many places have conveniently utilized it when transforming old communication lines.
3. Used in optical fiber communication system in 6kV~35kV~180kV distribution network.
