The optical cable model is the meaning represented by the coding and numbering of the optical cable to facilitate people to understand and use the optical cable. GL Fiber can supply 100+ types of fiber optic cables for outdoor & indoor applications, if you need our tethnical support or lastest price, pls contact us for more information!
The optical cable model consists of five parts (Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ)
Ⅰ. Indicates the type of optical cable
GY - outdoor optical cable for communication; GJ - indoor optical cable for communication; MG - optical cable for coal mines, etc.
Ⅱ. Reinforcement component types
(No model) - metal reinforcing components; F - non-metal reinforcing components
Ⅲ. Structural characteristics
C--self-supporting structure; D--fiber ribbon structure;
IV. Sheath
Y--polyethylene sheath; S--steel-polyethylene bonded sheath; A--aluminum-polyethylene bonded sheath; V--polyvinyl chloride sheath; W--steel with parallel steel wires- Polyethylene bonded sheath, etc.
Ⅴ. Outer protective layer
53--Corrugated steel strip longitudinal wrapping armor; 33--Single thin round steel wire armor; 43--Single thick round steel wire armor; 333--Double thin round steel wire armor, etc.
Number of optical fibers
Directly represented by numbers, the number of optical fibers in the optical cable should be 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 48, 60, 72, 96 144, or other core numbers required by the user.
Fiber Category
A multi-mode fiber; B single-mode fiber
Example: GYTA-4B1.3
Outdoor optical cable for communication (GY); grease-filled structure (T); aluminum-polyethylene bonded sheath (A); 4 cores (4); low water peak single-mode optical fiber G.652D (B1.3)
