Everyone knows that the design of the optical cable structure is directly related to the structural cost of the optical cable and the performance of the optical cable. A reasonable structural design will bring two benefits. Reaching the most optimized performance index and the most excellent structural cost is the goal that everyone pursues together. Generally, the structure of ADSS cable is divided into two types: layer stranded type and central beam tube type, and there are more stranded types.

Stranded ADSS is characterized by a central FRP reinforcement, which is mainly used as a central support. Some people call it a central anti-folding rod, while the bundle-tube type does not. For the determination of the center FRP size, relatively speaking, it is better to be slightly larger, but considering the cost factor, it is not that the larger the better, there must be a degree. For the usual stranded structure, the 1+6 structure is generally adopted. In the case that the number of optical cable cores is not too much, the 1+5 structure is also adopted. Theoretically speaking, when the number of structural cores is satisfied, using a 1+5 structure will reduce the cost a bit, but for the same pipe diameter, the diameter of the center FRP is only a little more than 70% of the 1+6 structure. The cable will be softer and the bending strength of the cable will be poor, which will increase the difficulty of construction.

If the 1+6 structure is adopted, the pipe diameter must be reduced without increasing the cable diameter, which will bring difficulties to the process, because the necessary pipe diameter must not be small to ensure that the optical cable has sufficient excess length Therefore, the value must be moderate. Through the comparative analysis of the test results of samples with different process structures, such as the use of φ2.2 tube, 1+5 structure, and the use of φ2.0 tube, the cost of 1+6 structure is similar, but this 1+6 structure , The center FRP is relatively thick, which will increase the rigidity of the cable, and make the performance of the optical cable more reliable, safer, and better in the roundness of the structure. The choice of this structure and the number of fiber cores in each tube depends on the craftsmanship of each manufacturer. Under normal circumstances, it is better to adopt the layer-stranded type with a large number of cores and a large pitch. The extra length of this structure can also be made relatively large. It is also the mainstream structure at present, and it is most suitable for use on the trunk line.
