Drop Optical Cable is also called Bow-type drop cable (for indoor wiring). The optical communication unit (optical fiber) is placed in the center, and two parallel non-metallic strength members (FRP) or metal strength members are placed on both sides. Finally, extruded black or white , Gray polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or low-smoke halogen-free material (LSZH, low-smoke, halogen-free, flame retardant) sheathed. The outdoor leather cable has a self-supporting hanging wire in a figure-8 shape.

Generally, there are G657A2 optical fiber, G657A1 optical fiber, and G652D optical fiber. There are two types of center reinforcement, metal reinforcement and non-metal FRP reinforcement. Metal reinforcements include ① phosphated steel wire ② copper-plated steel wire ③ galvanized steel wire ④ coated steel wire (including phosphate steel wire and galvanized steel wire coated with glue). Non-metal reinforcements include ①GFRP②KFRP③QFRP.

The sheath of the leather cable is generally white, black, and gray. White is generally used indoors, black is used outdoors, UV-resistant and rain-resistant. The sheath material includes PVC polyvinyl chloride, LSZH low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant sheath material. Generally, manufacturers divide LSZH low-smoke halogen-free flame retardant standards into three types: non-flame retardant, flame retardant through single vertical burning, and flame retardant in bundles.

Outdoor optical cable hanging wires can generally support 30-50 meters. Phosphating steel wire adopts 0.8-1.0MM, galvanized steel wire and rubberized steel wire.

Covered cable characteristics: special bending resistant optical fiber, providing greater bandwidth and enhancing network transmission performance; two parallel FRP or metal reinforcements make the optical cable have good compression resistance and protect the optical fiber; the optical cable has a simple structure, light weight, and practicality Strong; unique groove design, easy to peel, easy to connect, simplify installation and maintenance; low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant polyethylene sheath or flame-retardant PVC sheath, environmental protection. It can be matched with a variety of on-site connectors and can be completed on-site.

Because of its softness and lightness, the drop cable is widely used in the access network; the scientific name of the drop cable: the butterfly-shaped lead-in cable for the access network; because its shape is butterfly-shaped; it is also called butterfly-shaped optical cable, Figure 8 optical cable. The product is used in: for indoor wiring, the end user directly uses the cable; for the building's incoming optical cable; for the user's indoor wiring in FTTH.
